Book Club || #04

It's been a while since our last book club—between launching new collections, growing the business, and juggling everything life throws at us, reading time has been scarce lately. But when we do manage to steal those precious quiet moments, here are some books that the team and I have absolutely loved.

Anna x

The Consequence of Anna
It's no wonder that this novel is going to be turned into a movie. Anna's obsessive love for her cousin leads to devastating choices that spiral into tragedy, all set against 1930s Australia. The mental illness portrayal felt genuine and heartbreaking. Fair warning—it's nearly 600 pages and emotionally brutal, but worth every tear-soaked page for the raw human complexity - Anna

River Is Waiting Wally Lamb
Lamb doesn't shy away from the hardest questions about what happens when good people make terrible mistakes. Corby's story is brutal but necessary, showing how we might find our way back from the unforgivable. Heavy reading, but worth every difficult page for the profound conversations it sparked. I won't lie—this one gutted me - Diana

You won't believe this actually happened—but it did. Its February 2021, during lockdown, Chloe discovered an orphaned baby hare and their real-life bond became something magical.  This true story teaches us to slow down and notice the natural world around us. Beautifully written without being sentimental - Chenae

The Pheonix Pencil Company
A debut novel that stunned me. When Monica discovers her grandmother's magical ability to "reforge" pencil memories during wartime Shanghai, it becomes a beautiful exploration of family secrets and inherited stories. The blend of technology, history, and gentle magic feels fresh and deeply moving. Discovered via the Reeses Book Club and now on my favourites list - Anna
