Tell us about your beautiful store - how did you start and what's been exciting about the journey thus far?
Contain came about from spotting an opportunity in a small town that had nothing but surf shops, alongside a long time love for fashion. Coming into our 10th year, it has been quite a journey but I never get tired of seeing new ranges and have loved all the lovely people I have met along the way – customers and suppliers.
What would you say your aesthetic of your store is - who are the ladies you’re dressing?
Light, bright and modern to set off all the beautiful clothing and homeware. I pride myself on being able to dress women of all ages, shapes and sizes, the Contain customer loves to look good and feel good and appreciates beautiful quality clothing.
How would you describe your own personal style? What is the key to a successful outfit?
I am a bit of a Tomboy and love neutrals. Quality fabrics, tailoring and making sure it fits your body shape are key.
Which piece are you coveting from Laing's new Summer collection?
The Virginia Tank and Chaplin Pants have already hit my wardrobe, such perfect and versatile staples.
How will you be wearing/styling this piece as we head into summer? What will you be wearing it with?
Right now, I will be layering the Virginia Tank either with a shirt thrown over with buttons undone, or as an extra layer for warmth and then it will be on its own when the weather warms up. The Chaplin Pants are a comfortable, everyday go to…I’ll be wearing them with a nice knit or shirt now and then little tanks and sandals for summer.
What do you admire most about Laing as a brand?
In my eyes, Laing designer Anna is a perfectionist, all her pieces are designed with so much attention to detail and will stand the test of time. A perfect balance of fashion v function!
